Road Safety Project – Bryants Road

Project Overview

Councils Local Area Traffic Management Prioritisation Program funds road safety treatments at locations within the municipality where road safety risks have been identified.  Funding for traffic calming treatments on Bryants Road is anticipated within the next 12 months due to the following road safety risks being identified:

  • High volumes of trucks using the residential section of Bryants Road
  • High traffic speeds on Bryants Road

Councils traffic engineers are currently investigating potential treatment options to address these issues and are now seeking your view.

You can provide comment on the range of treatment options Council is considering by completing an online survey below:

Complete the survey here

If you would like a paper copy of the survey please contact Council via RoadSafety@cgd.vic.gov.au or 8571 1000.

Why are road safety treatments being proposed?

A road safety risk has been identified.  On Bryants Road, this is related to high vehicle speeds and trucks driving through residential areas.

How is this project being funded?

The project is being fully funded by Council through the Local Area Traffic Management (LATM) Program, which prioritises roads for treatment based on numerous factors. For more information on Councils LATM Program, please visit:  https://www.greaterdandenong.vic.gov.au/parking-roads-and-transport/road-safety.

How are the locations for the platforms chosen?

A package of works will be developed by Councils traffic engineers based on:

  • Effectiveness of the treatments
  • Cost of the treatments
  • Community feedback

The package of works must be considered suitable to address the road safety risk identified.
