You can request planning advice or information in writing, or obtain printed copies of planning documents (a fee applies for this service) such as;
- a written response stating whether a planning permit is required for the proposed land use and/or buildings and works
- a written response stating whether any Planning Scheme requirements, zoning or overlay controls apply to the land
- a Planning Permit history for the land (if you require a copy of a planning permit and endorsed plans, please visit the Obtain copies of permits and plans section)
- written advice on a Strategic Planning, Design or Sustainability matter
- formal written determination that a matter has been done to the satisfaction of the responsible authority as required by the Greater Dandenong Planning Scheme
- a printed copy of the advertised material for a planning permit application currently under consideration
- a printed copy of a planning scheme reference or incorporated document, approved development plan, planning strategy or policy document

What you must provide
- a completed Request for written planning advice / general planning enquiry (PDF – xx KB) form
- if the type of enquiry requires it, you will need to provide a copy of the full Certificate of Title (including the Register Search Statement showing any covenants or restrictions)
- the application fee - see the Planning and subdivision fees section. If you wish to pay by credit card, please submit your application and you will be sent an invoice which can be paid on Council's online payment portal MyGreaterDandenong.com
